Open book on a knitted blanket, surrounded by candles, creating a cozy fall vibe. Text: "Clean Romance Authors To Cozy Up to this Fall."

There’s something about fall that makes me reach for stories full of heart—clean romance with depth, laughter, and hope. Maybe it’s the cooler weather, the shorter days, or the endless mugs of coffee, but November always feels like the perfect time to curl up with a stack of good books.

Lately, I’ve been diving into a mix of both historical and contemporary reads from some truly talented clean romance authors. If you’re looking for a few new writers to add to your list, here are four I’ve been loving lately:

I started reading Karen Witemeyer’s fairy tale retellings and was instantly hooked. Who wouldn’t love a Snow White and the Seven Dwarves retelling where the “dwarves” are retired cowhands—each with their own endearing quirks and personalities? Karen has such a gift for blending humor, heart, and faith into every page, and she weaves those familiar fairy-tale threads seamlessly into her western settings.

If you haven’t read Fairest of Heart or If the Boot Fits, you’re missing out on a delightful mix of Texas grit and fairy-tale charm. And while you’re at it, add A Texas Christmas Carol to your holiday reading list—it’s her western take on A Christmas Carol, and it’s the perfect cozy read for this time of year.

Pepper Basham is a must-read author for me. Her Authentically, Izzy series has completely captured my heart. Written through a series of letters, emails, and text messages, it feels like peeking into someone’s inbox—in the best way possible! The humor, the banter, the family dynamics… it’s just plain fun.

And her newest release, Sense & Suitability, just hit my TBR pile, and I can’t wait to dive in. I love how Pepper blends faith, literary flair, and real-life emotions that feel so genuine. Her stories always leave me smiling and encouraged—which is exactly what I look for in a clean romance.

Lynette Bonner’s books are what brought me back to reading more historical romances lately. If you enjoy multi-character historical stories that are rich in setting and layered with faith, she’s one to try. I especially love how she handles multiple points of view without losing the thread of the story—it makes her historical worlds feel alive and connected. Her books are heartfelt, adventurous, and beautifully written, perfect for readers who love faith-filled fiction with depth.

The whole reason I picked up my first Mary Connealy book was because of the narrator—Barbara McCulloh. She’s the voice behind Karen Witemeyer’s Texas Ever After series, and I absolutely loved her narration. When I started To Love a Beast and realized it was a different narrator (one I didn’t particularly enjoy), I nearly stopped listening. But then—at the end—the preview for a Mary Connealy book played… and there was that voice!

I had to give it a go, and I’m so glad I did. Barbara brings Mary’s stories to life with such warmth and expression. Mary’s western romances are full of humor, spunky heroines, and steadfast faith, all wrapped up in her trademark charm. The combination of Mary’s storytelling and Barbara’s narration makes these books a joy to listen to—like visiting old friends on the frontier.

💕 Final Thoughts

One of my favorite parts of being a reader (and a writer!) is discovering authors who tell stories that lift your spirit and remind you that love and faith still matter. These four ladies are doing just that—each in their own unique way.

If you’ve read any of these authors—or have other favorites you think I should try—I’d love to hear from you in the comments! Let’s build our cozy TBR stacks together.
